Ewen Sturgeon has been
appointed EMEA Chief Executive of WPP Creative, a new regional role
overseeing multiple agencies including VML, Ogilvy, Burson, AKQA, Landor, and
Design Bridge & Partners.
This expands his previous role as EMEA CEO of VML into a broader leadership position aimed at improving collaboration and simplifying access to talent across WPP’s creative network. He reports to Jon Cook, who leads the global WPP Creative unit and is responsible for shaping its overall strategy and integration model.
The appointment follows the departure of Patou Nuytemans, CEO Ogilvy EMEA; her role will not be replaced, reflecting WPP’s move toward a leaner regional structure.
Sturgeon brings extensive experience from leadership roles at Wunderman Thompson, Publicis Sapient, and Digitas.
The role is part of WPP’s “WPP Creative” unit, launched
under CEO Cindy Rose as part of its Elevate28 strategy, which aims to unify
creative, design, and PR agencies under a shared operating model while keeping
their individual brands.
